Blue Oceans Global Consulting
Helping companies prepare for the Fourth Industrial Revolution
The first industrial revolution involved mechanization, water, and steam power. The second one saw the assembly line, which the automotive industry led. The third industrial revolution enabled value to be created by computers and automation. When we look at the fourth industrial revolution it’s a new world, in which the physical world is going to coexist with unprecedented amounts of data, computing power, and other advances.
The third industrial revolution was about how to take existing processes and make them more efficient through the use of computers and automation. The fourth industrial revolution is about re-imagining the work itself. The single biggest driver in this revolution will be the enhanced ability to understand the customer. It is also the best opportunity to make this change a positive one.
We believe the big questions will be: How do companies and employees acquire new competencies? How do companies cooperate better together? How do companies stay relevant and competitive? Most importantly, how do companies find the necessary resources of money and talent to enable the changes needed to succeed in the future? We see many examples of companies already starting to take on these challenges. But given the totality of the change we believe the complexity for management will be very difficult to master and require exceptional leadership.
Many small to mid sized companies will find it especially difficult to locate the resources and talent necessary. The primary mission for Blue Oceans Global Consulting is to provide a cost-effective way to help as many small to medium sized companies as possible to successfully navigate these challenges.
